Your crypto wallet is the quintessential piece of your Web3 experience. Securing the wallet begins with securing your wallet’s seed phrase. Also called the mnemonic, recovery phrase, or security key, your private seed phrase should only be accessible to you and you alone.

To learn more about securing your recovery phrase, refer our guide on how to secure your wallet seed phrase.

You have nothing to fear if you have lost access to your crypto wallet but still have your recovery phrase. Using the recovery phrase, you can easily recover your wallet and regain access to all your assets and positions.

To do so, you only need to follow this step-by-step guide to restore your crypto wallet using Frontier:

  1. Once you have installed and accepted the terms, you will have an option to create, import, connect, or track any wallet.

  2. In case you are already using Frontier, tap on the top right icon on your wallet home screen to open the ‘Switch Wallet’ drawer and tap on the ‘+’ icon. Alternatively, you can tap on ‘More’ and select ‘Manage wallets,’ then select ‘Add wallet’ at the top of the screen.

  3. At the ‘Set up your wallet’ screen, select the ‘Import wallet’ option to use your existing recovery phrase/keystore/private key.

  4. In the next screen, you will be prompted to choose which wallet you would want to import. We recommend you use the ‘Multi-coin wallet’ option to import the wallet and all supporting blockchains. Alternatively, you may also choose from any of the chains listed to import the wallet for only a single chain.

  5. Once you have made your choice, you will be prompted to enter your recovery phrase or scan your private key QR code. Please ensure you correctly enter the words with the appropriate spaces between them. In case the chain supports it, you may also be able to use the Keystore+Password and Private Key options to import your wallet.

  6. You will then be prompted to enter your six-digit Frontier passcode. In case you haven’t created one yet, you will be prompted to create one. Please remember this code, it will be used to approve all transactions on Frontier Wallet as an additional layer of security. In case you forget it, you will need to uninstall Frontier Wallet and add your wallets again.

  7. Once confirmed, Frontier will begin adding your wallet. Please wait until this process is completed.

  8. Once successfully accepted, you will be prompted to ‘Add your wallet details.’ Here you may choose to enable/disable specific chains. You can always change this later.

  9. Enter a ‘Wallet nickname’ to help you identify your wallet in notifications and while making transactions. This will not be displayed to anyone else but you.

  10. Once complete, you should land on your wallet home screen, where you should see your token balances, any active positions, NFTs, and even see any history associated with your wallet in the activity tab.

  11. If you have imported a multi-chain wallet, you will be able to switch between wallets by tapping on the wallet icon on the top right of the screen.

Congratulations, you have successfully restored your wallet. Keep your seed phrase securely stored, and continue using Frontier Wallet to manage your crypto assets as you did before.
