In DeFi, security is paramount. As DeFi adoption continues to increase, malicious actors in the space are also searching for opportunities to breach users wallets and gain access to their funds. This is why Frontier makes user security a priority.

The Frontier mobile wallet app is a piece of software that allows DeFi users to store their private keys and interact with different multi-chain ecosystems. To enhance user private keys protection, Frontier allows users to add an extra layer of security by enabling the passcode feature.

Activating Frontier PIN makes it difficult to gain access into a user's wallet, transfer funds or change PIN in case of phone loss.

How to enable PIN/PASSCODE in your Frontier wallet

Open your Frontier wallet interface => Tap the "More" icon => Click on "Biometric/Passcode" => Input a 4-digit PIN to activate your Frontier PIN

When will you be prompted to enter your Frontier PIN?

The Frontier PIN feature adds an extra layer of security and prevents unauthorized access into a user's wallet. A user is prompted to input their Frontier PIN to;

  • reopen the wallet interface each time it is closed

  • create or import a new wallet

  • sign or approve transactions

The importance of security in DeFi cannot be overemphasized. Frontier is a non-custodial mobile wallet. This means that users have the sole responsibility of securing their funds. Choose a PIN number that is easy to remember. You can also save it somewhere safe in case you forget. Frontier is committed to deploying the necessary tools to make it easy for users to safely protect their crypto asset.
